Preperation & Application
Careful attention is paid to preparing and pre-treating the sealing systems prior to coating application to ensure optimum adhesion of the coating to the substrate. The parts are also preheated to ensure film formation and flow during application, followed by flash-off and cure. All of this is accomplished in a combined process “window” of less than three minutes.
Our coatings are applied utilising the latest in reciprocating robot technology for consistency and accuracy in building film layers. This protects the elastomer’s surface against environmental attack, enhances its chemical and abrasion resistance, improves its coefficient of friction, and eliminates noise associated with micro-movement. Many of the parts we process for our customers are also considered “Class-A” appearance components which are visible on the outside of the vehicle, requiring high aesthetic appeal and lustre over a sustained period of time.
Another significant aspect of the Process element of our 3P-Principle is our ability to adjust our application processes to match mating parts, both visually and in the texture of these surfaces.
We also apply our coatings on thermally sensitive substrates such as TPE, TPOs and TPVs as well as the more common plastic materials used for vehicle components. We can also to coat silicone-rubber components used in automotive and non-automotive applications. |
